Community Participation Supports (CPS) – Employment and Community
Community Participation Supports (CPS) – Employment and Community
The goal of the Community Participation Supports program is to provide opportunities for meaningful employment within the various areas of manufacturing at CCABH as well as rewarding experiences within the community. Participation in CPS is for individuals who qualify under the ID/A Medicaid Waiver program. Participants may choose a blend in their weekly schedule between employment and community outings.
In the work setting, individuals are assigned to our Johnstown or Ebensburg work centers where they receive job skills training from CCABH’s trained Program Specialists and Supervisors. This program provides persons with disabilities the support needed to succeed in meaningful employment.
CCABH offers jobs in several areas of employment opportunities:
- Our Metals Forming employees produce hooks, hangers, cable supports and specialized safety products for the mining and tunneling industry, as well as the solar power, utility and telecommunications, shipbuilding and pipeline industries. Many of these products are sold worldwide under the brand name CAB Products.
- Our Sewing Department employees cut and fabricate clothing and a wide variety of materials for institutional use. They make everything from pajamas and nightgowns to pillowcases and safety vests for industrial, federal and state applications.
- Our Dietary Department assembles food service kits, including special dietary restriction kits, for hospitals and other institutions in the United states. Employees are trained for both hand and machine assembly.
- Our Sub-contract employees work in a variety of areas including sorting, assembly and packaging of various products.
In the community setting, individuals are transported and staffed by CCABH’s trained Program Specialists and Direct Support Professionals. This program provides persons with disabilities the support needed to volunteer, create friendships and become active members in their communities.
Employees of CCABH are eligible to participate in our Social Recreational Program. Disabilities can be very isolating, and CCABH works to further help clients to expand their socialization skills through participation in our Social Recreational Program. The program consists of seasonal parties or dinners, shopping trips, and occasional tours of area attractions. All Social Recreational Program activities are supervised by our staff.
