CAB Solar is proud to announce it has been awarded a second U.S. Patent for its Solar Cable Management System with Integrated Grounding. CAB’s newest patent is the ninth held by CAB for its innovative solar product line. Additional patents are pending with announcements expected in the coming months.
The new CAB Patent provides broader protection for CAB’s Integrated Grounding System which includes a multi-function copper composite messenger wire along with a broad range of support structures and grounding hardware components. Together, these provide cable support as well as the ground path.
CAB’s Integrated Grounding provides both the Equipment Grounding Conductor (EGC) and the Grounding Electrode Conductor (GEC). CAB’s system lowers cost by eliminating the need to install a separate grounding conductor on the cabling system and installing individual jumpers from the grounding conductor to each mid pier in the solar array.
CAB’s Director of Operations, Tara Bosserman, states: “Our Integrated Grounding System provides far lower, more predictable costs than cable tray or trenching. This allows for standardization of cable management across an entire portfolio of projects. Engineering firms worldwide are specifying the CAB system and reporting great success. We are helping to dramatically reduce costs on large scale solar projects.”
CAB’s Solar Cable Management with Integrated Grounding is Safety Listed by Intertek to UL 2703, and also meets NEC and IEEE standards*.
CAB offers a comprehensive Engineering Evaluation of the CAB Integrated Grounding System, which covers cable and hardware requirements and code compliance information.
