CAB Solar is proud to announce it has been awarded a tenth U.S. Patent for its innovative Solar Cable Management Product Line. Nine additional patents are still pending with announcements expected in the coming months.
The new patent provides additional coverage for CAB’s Cable Management System with Integrated Grounding which won the prestigious NECA Showstopper Award. The Showstopper, presented by the National Electrical Contractors Association, is the highest electrical industry award given in the U.S. It recognizes a new product for its significant economic benefits and innovative technology.
CAB’s cabling system simplifies electrical design and lowers the cost of labor and material in ground mount solar arrays. It’s quick and easy to install and has many benefits over trenching or cable tray. CAB’s system eliminates the need to run a separate grounding conductor and grounding jumpers to all mid piers.
The CAB design includes a custom engineered copper composite messenger wire, heavy duty mid pier brackets with clamps and end pier kits. CAB’s strong, durable PVC coated hangers easily attach to the messenger wire and the individual carriers can be quickly loaded with all types of cabling. In addition to cost effective cable management, it can provide both the Equipment Grounding Conductor (EGC) and the Grounding Electrode Conductor (GEC).
CAB’s Chief Operating Officer, Tara Bosserman, states: “CAB’s Integrated Grounding System has proven to be very popular with EPC’s and electrical contractors because it’s so easy to install. Plus it provides significant savings in labor and material.
“We recently added a new Solar Research and Development Field at our Ebensburg Division with both a fixed tilt and a tracker system. This investment will definitely enhance our ongoing efforts to bring cost effective, innovative products for the solar industry.”
CAB Cable Management with Integrated Grounding meets NEC, UL and IEEE standards and is Safety Listed by Intertek to UL 2703. CAB offers a comprehensive Engineering Evaluation of the CAB Integrated Grounding System, which covers cable and hardware requirements and code compliance information.
